Classes and Styles
Beginners
Many of our classes are "mixed-ability", so beginners are just as welcome as our more experienced students. You'll find a friendly teacher who'll check in with you before class, make sure you're happy, and keep an eye on you as class progresses.
Mens Naked Yoga
Yoga was originally practiced naked, and we're the first studio in London to formally offer naturist classes as a way of getting back to the roots of yoga. Practicing naked allows you to really connect with your body, and also allows you to free your mind.
Vinyasa Flow
"Vinyasa" means 'flow', and so Vinyasa Yoga classes contain extended moving sequences where each pose flows into the next, in time with your breathing. Vinyasa classes tend to be more of a physical workout than Hatha classes.
Introduction to Yoga
These classes are for anyone who's always wanted to try yoga but not known where to start. This rolling four week series is designed to introduce you to some of the fundamentals of yoga as you build up knowledge and confidence to join a regular class.
One to One
If you're looking for a more personal experience, Matthew offers one to one sessions at BSY. You'll receive a session tailored specifically to you, which can be a great way to discover yoga, but can also be a great way to refocus your existing practice.
Yoga for Gay Men
This 90 min class for gay men and their friends is a fun and social group. It's "all-levels" so beginners are more than welcome, and we usually go for a drink and a bite to eat after class.
Hatha
"Hatha" means 'effort' and applies in the first case to the physical part of making shapes with your body. It can also mean the 'effort' to concentrate and focus your mind. In a Hatha Yoga class you'll find static postures and breathing exercises. It's generally a more gentle style of yoga.
