About this workshop:
Kirtan - call and response chanting - is the yoga of sound, a beautiful and high energy experience of chanting mantra as a group to connect our voices to our inner states of bliss, joy and oneness. It’s also a great party - a celebration of ourselves, our voices and our hearts.
Many people find it challenging to sit and meditate, but with kirtan, the struggle of ‘turning off’ or ’emptying’ your mind melts away as you focus solely on the singing, sound, music and mantras. A sitting of the mind is an easy, welcome effect of this practice as well as a natural feeling of uplifting joy and inner peace.
Who this workshop is for:
We welcome all men and most importantly you don’t have to be a " good singer " its all about expressing yourself and letting go!
There’s no need to be shy as everyone’s voices blend together alongside the rhythm from the drums and the melody of different instruments.
What to wear/Bring:
-
something you can move in - no jeans - shorts and a t-shirt are fine, trackie bottoms and a sweat top also fine!
-
A yoga mat if you have one. Mats are provided, but for hygiene reasons your own mat is recommended. No problem if you don’t.
-
A refillable water bottle (not plastic please) and a towel if you choose.
-
Note that there are no shower facilities at this venue.
