Who this holiday retreat is for:

This retreat is for men who are keen to find out more about themselves in a safe, non-judgmental environment. No problem if you've never done yoga before, or if you are an experienced yogi who wants to deepen your practice, everyone's welcome.

Matthew is joined by fellow yoga teacher and long time collaborator Andrea at the beautiful "Keiro Veor" in Cornwall for a week of yoga immersion, fantastic food, and amazing company!

We're offering two separate weeks: the first week as a naked retreat, the second as a clothed retreat, so whatever you're looking for in a yoga retreat for men there's a week for you!

Why naked?:

Yoga is about deepening our understanding of ourselves, the world around us, and our place in that world.  Without the physical shield of clothes it's much easier to connect with that sense of self as we can more easily put aside the mental shield we all have in our daily lives. We're all on the same level, so no judgement can be made about who we are by the outward signs we choose to cover ourselves with.

Meditating and practising yoga whilst naked as a member of a group of other naked men is a life-affirming and deeply liberating experience.

What's included:

  • 5 nights accommodation (based on two guests sharing a double room), arrive Fri afternoon, depart Wed Morning.

  • Full and varied programme of daily yoga with two teachers; meditation, pranayama, asana.

  • Three full meals a day, including delicious home cooked meals (and wine with dinner).

What's not included:

  • Travel to the venue.

  • yoga props - if you like to practice with bricks, blocks, or straps please bring your own with you.

Pricing:

£750 per week

The Yoga/Meditation:

There will be three sessions each day. All are optional, it's your holiday!  We'll start each day with a gentle wake up moving meditation.  After breakfast there will be a more engaged session taking us up to lunchtime.  The afternoons are free time. Then a more dynamic session before dinner, except on one evening when there will be a quiet meditation after dinner to take us to bed time.

The Venue:

Keiro Veor is a stunning and secluded 14 acre oasis on the North Cornish coast near Rock and  Polzeith accessed via a private driveway, with a wood fired hot tub, stunning gardens and wild meadows, and views over the surrounding countryside.

Set on the site of a former Cornish farmhouse, Keiro Veor is an impressive energy efficient, Carpenter Oak framed home boasting impeccable interior design completed to the highest specification.

The house has comfortable accommodation for ten guests, a spacious living area that we'll be using  as our indoor yoga shala and a dedicated separate lounge and TV room, as well as formal lawns and several terraces that are perfect  for outside yoga if the weather is fine.

Getting There:

Driving is the most straightforward way and there's plenty of parking, but we'd prefer you to car share if possible.

By train is also a possibility with Bodmin Parkway being approx 40 mins away and lifts easily arranged.

Newquay airport  is 30 mins from the house, so flying is also an option.

The Food:

We'll be looked after by Marc, a professional chef and owner of the award winning Blue Tomato Cafe in nearby Rock, who also happens to be a yoga  teacher!  He will provide a healthy breakfast, hearty lunch, and delicious dinner.

Meals will be served in the dining room or in the courtyard if the weather is fine.  This is a holiday so there are no restrictive diets: meat and dairy will be available for those who choose, and wine will be served with dinner for those who would like.

Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements and we'll do what we can to accommodate.

What to wear/Bring:

For the naturist retreat you're welcome to be naked as much or as little as you wish (it's  compulsory for the yoga). The house is well insulated and warm with log fires and a hot tub, so you won't get cold! For the clothed week you may wear whatever you feel comfortable in to practice. We suggest stretchy non restrictive clothing,  shorts and a vest.

Yoga mats are provided,  but no other accessories.

How many students will there be?

The retreat is limited to 10 yogis.  I expect demand to be high, so get in early!
