For the first time, Brewer Street Yoga is collaborating with Matt - The Bearded Naked Yogi to offer a fantastic and varied week-long men’s naked yoga and meditation retreat in Cornwall.

Who this holiday retreat is for:

This retreat is for men who are interested and eager to discover more about themselves in a safe, non-judgemental environment. It’s no problem if you haven’t done yoga or meditation, or if you’re an experienced yogi who knows their way around a yoga mat - everyone is welcome at this fantastic event.

Matthew will be teaching alongside fellow BSY teacher Marc and both are delighted to be joined by Matt - The Bearded Naked Yogi.

Matt is a dedicated practitioner and teacher of hatha yoga (Himalayan style) and Atma Kriya meditation with a deep understanding of spiritual philosophy from a number of traditions.

Our inspiring retreat will take place over 6 days and 5 nights in the village of Rock on the North Cornish coast, famed for its charming fishing villages, local eateries and stunning beaches, guests will be staying in a large, stunningly appointed property set within beautiful grounds and close to the Camel Estuary.

Why naked?:

Yoga is about deepening our understanding of ourselves, the world around us, and our place in that world.  Without the physical shield of clothes it's much easier to connect with that sense of self as we can more easily put aside the mental shield we all have in our daily lives. We're all on the same level, so no judgement can be made about who we are by the outward signs we choose to cover ourselves with.

Meditating and practising yoga whilst naked as a member of a group of other naked men is a life-affirming and deeply liberating experience.

What's included:

  • 5 nights accommodation in a shared room (double or twin), arrive Fri afternoon, depart Wed Morning.

  • Full and varied programme of daily yoga with three teachers; meditation, pranayama, asana.

  • Three full and hearty meals a day: delicious home cooked Ayurvedic inspired menus (and wine with dinner).

  • A yoga mat for your practice.

  • All bedding/towels etc.

What's not included:

  • Travel to the venue.

  • yoga props - if you like to practice with bricks, blocks, or straps please bring your own with you.

The Yoga/Meditation:

There will be three sessions each day. All are optional, it's your holiday!  We'll start each day with a gentle wake up moving meditation.  After breakfast there will be a more engaged session taking us up to lunchtime.  The afternoons are free time. Then a more dynamic session before dinner, except on one evening when there will be a sound bath meditation led by Marc after dinner to take us to bed time.

The Venue:

Surrounded by beautiful Cornish countryside Buzza Vean, our accommodation for this wonderful retreat, enjoys a unique position where peace and quiet and convenience come hand in hand. Here you will be just moments away from everything Rock has to offer, from shops and restaurants to stunning beaches and glorious coastal walks, whilst also remaining secluded and private within its own mature gardens.

The property is a spacious and bright with interiors of slate, wood and white-washed walls with extensive facilities and tastefully appointed bedrooms, many of which enjoy beautiful countryside views.

A large, vaulted, ground-floor yoga space will provide plenty of room for our practice.
